Hello families and friends,
Happy Pi Day! What did you do to celebrate?
Today we spent our afternoon working on creating a non-fiction book using the information we learned about magnets from our centres/experiments that we did earlier this year. We will be continuing this for the rest of the week in preparation for some work that we will be doing after we return from Spring Break.
Continuing our read-a-thon celebration tomorrow we are having pyjama day. The students will also get a Book and Movie Club morning with Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
See you all this Thursday and Friday for Parent Teacher Conferences.
Have a great evening!

Hello families and friends,
A reminder that tonight and tomorrow night are our Student Led Learning Walks. This time, we will be showcasing work from Kindergarten to Grade 4 related to the common theme ‘Mathematics with Literature connections’. The purpose of Student Led Learning Walks is to make learning visible for everyone as we share what the goals, words and expectations of curriculum look like as they come alive across all grade levels.
· If your child’s last name begins with letter from A - L please attend on Wednesday, March 9th 6:00 -7:30 pm.
· If your child’s last name begins with the letter from M - Z please attend on Thursday, March 10th from 6:00 pm-7:30 pm.
· If you are unable to make it on the assigned evening you are welcome to change nights.
Also, tomorrow, due to the gym being set up for our Student Led Learning Walks, we will be having gym outside. It should have warmed up by the afternoon, but please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately to be out and running around.
Have a wonderful Wednesday, and see you all tonight or tomorrow night!

Information about this week's book fair is going home. It will be open on Wednesday and Thursday throughout the day and during the Student Led Learning Walks in the evenings for parents and students to purchase books from.
We will be welcoming parents to the school for our second round of Student Led Learning Walks. The purpose of Student Led Learning Walks is to make learning visible for everyone as we share what the goals, words and expectations of curriculum look like as they come alive across all grade levels.
Parent Teacher Conference booking is open online.
Please remember to return all field trip forms as soon as possible.
On Friday we will be continuing the artwork that we started with our artist in residence, Mrs. Ellison. We will be working with paint that does not wash out easily, so please make sure that your child is wearing old clothing.

Hello families and friends,
This morning we went to the Learning Commons with Mrs. Jones to review the procedure for signing out and returning books. We also worked on our literacy skills in Daily 5, and then worked in our math groupings. For Mr. Soulliere's math group; where do we use base-2, base-12, base-16, base-20, and base-60 number systems in our world? Our words of the week for this week are "again", "give", "look", and "say" for grade ones, and "march", "call", "have", and "always" for grade twos. Which two words of the week are not like the others, and how are they different?
Thank you to all of you who brought in money for cupcakes today! It was a huge success and we raised a lot of money for the ASPCA. Fortunately, we also had a LOT of parents who had volunteered to bake cupcakes for today. As a result, we still have plenty left over. So if your child would like to purchase another cupcake tomorrow, please send in $1 with them. They will be sold in the morning while supplies last.
Next week on Wednesday and Thursday, March 9th and 10th, is our Student Led Learning Walk. This will be in a similar format to the one held earlier this year. Stay tuned for more information.
